Nearly 85 per cent of the work on the new Bangalore International Airport, which is expected to be commissioned next April, has been completed, a statement from the airport authority said on Monday.
In addition to the runway, the taxiway also has been completed. All the civil works of the terminal building have been completed and works were in full swing.
While the main works at terminal building main has been completed, works inside the building like arrival and departure areas were in progress, the release said.
Activities that are in progress, include installation of the structural support for glass elevators, the installation of the brackets for mounting the special airport
system equipment on columns, installation of automatic doors, the fire alarm detectors and the light fittings.
