This follows HGSL's acquisition of Affina, a US-based BPO company, in October this year for an undisclosed sum. The company is also scouting for acquisitions in the Philippines and has initiated discussions with two companies for a possible takeover.
HGSL is in negotiations with three companies - two non-voice BPO companies in the UK and a voice-based outsourcing firm in the US.
The deal prices are in the range of around $100 million and the company would like to close the deals by December, a source close to the development said.
The voice-based BPO is into call centre operations, while the two non-voice companies are into transactions processes for global customers, the source added. However, the names of the companies could not be ascertained.
When contacted, HGSL Chief Executive Officer Partha Sarkar declined to comment, but added that the company was looking at "overseas opportunities to expand its operations".
"We are looking at increasing our presence across the globe and expanding our topline growth, and acquisitions will be one of the way of doing it. We are in discussion with many companies, but these cannot be divulged at this point in time," Sarkar said.
Meanwhile, industry sources said that the company has also commenced discussions with two BPO firms in the Philippines. The discussions are in the preliminary stages and it would take sometime before the company can close these deals.
HGSL already has a presence in Manila with a back office presence employing over 2,000 personnel. The company provides voice-based BPO services to global companies, mainly in English.
