Exports of jewellery from India have gone up 32 per cent in the last two months ended May thanks to increasing demand and sale diamonds abroad.
According to figures from the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, exports reached $3.18 billion, compared with $2.4 billion a year earlier.
Diamond exports rose 7.6 per cent to $1.74 billion and jewellery sales gained 10 per cent to $674 million. Exports from special economic zones surged sevenfold to $704 million.
