The Tata Group, which has interests in steel, telecom, food processing, IT and auto, will look towards enhancing its presence in the US market, and has identified hospitality, automobile and software as focus areas, chairman Ratan Tata said on Friday.
"We may look at software, hospitality - having hotels - or even a presence in the automotive sector sometime in the future," Tata said after unveiling the Indo-US CEO Forum Report.
He said that there was no deterrent for the Tatas or any other Indian business group to invest in the US. He, however, advised Indian business groups to grow and strengthen their brands before entering the US.
"The US is a huge and discerning market. My advice is to mature your brands overseas before taking them to the US. Rejection in US can be fierce," he said.
