Discovery Travel and Living is presenting a new series called, Indian Rendezvous, based on the upmarket lifestyles of people in six metros of India. The series will also be aired in other Asian countries and the UK.

"We might focus on other cities as well in due course of time. There are other new programmes also coming up on DT&L, which include, Matter of Taste, to be written and hosted by Vir Sanghvi and other programmes based on hotels, music and dance," said Aditya Tripathi, vice-president, Discovery Lifestyle Networks, Discovery Networks India.

The series is aimed at a section of the Indian television audience, who have a global mindset and who love to know about the culture and lifestyle of different places. "We plan to sell these programmes around the world by next year.

Starting December 1, we have started in-house airing of Discovery Travel & Living in Kingfisher Airlines. We might plan other such strategies to reach out to the upper class audience and our strategy has evolved from making ourselves available to our target audience to creating awareness."

DT&L has also launched limited DVD versions of a few popular programmes. It might go in for largescale DVD selling once piracy is reduced considerably and when the Indian market evolves into a DVD-buying audience from the current DVD-renting one.
