The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India on Friday asked telecom operators to stop tariffs plans with misleading titles like zero rentals, and asked them to show all monthly, fixed recurring charges under one head.

A release issued by Trai said: 'The direction comes in the context of the fact that tariff plans with misleading titles like 'zero rentals' have mushroomed in the market.'

'Trai intends to put an end to the practice of operators splitting the monthly fixed charges.'

It would be easy for the subscriber to make a choice from plans available in the market when all fixed charges are clubbed under one head, the release added.
