Low-cost carrier Air Deccan will add Pune and Srinagar to its network on December 6, taking the total number of its destinations to 46 and making it the largest network provider in the country.

At present, Jet Airways connects 44 destinations, Indian Airlines 41, Alliance Air 31 and Air Sahara 24.

Air Deccan began its operations two-and-a-half years ago with one aircraft and one flight a day. Now it connects 44 cities with close to 180 flights spanning the length and breadth of the country.

"Air Deccan has a vision to provide air connectivity to India. So we connected not just Mumbai and Delhi which accounts for 60 per cent of the flights in the country but also the small airports like Nashik, Vijayawada, Hubli, Belgaum, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Dehradun," said its Managing Director G R Gopinath.

The no-frills airline has a fleet size of 22 aircraft -- Airbus A-320s and ATRs jets.
