Global magazine Fortune on Friday said it is exploring possibilities to start an Indian edition.

The seminar was organised by Fortune and Media Representation International.

Asked whether the edition would be brought out through a joint venture or an alliance with an Indian company, Friedman said, "We have a relationship with India Today and we would like to give first preference to them."

Friedman said Fortune was in talks with other publications as well but declined to name them. "We are also considering printing in India and looking at partnering in all possible avenues."

As part of an initiative to increase its subscriber base in India, which currently stands at less than 10,000, Fortune would be coming out with an India special magazine in October.
