Govt not to sell 13 profit-making PSUs

The government on Tuesday announced that it has formally called-off plans to sell stakes in 13 profit-making central public sector undertakings.

"In keeping with the National Common Minimum Programme guidelines, it has been decided to call off the process of divestment through strategic sale of 13 profit-making PSUs," S S Palanimanickam, minister of state for finance, said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.

Companies that have been taken-off the divestment list includes Nalco, Shipping Corporation, National Fertilisers, HPCL, Engineers India and RCF.
