Notwithstanding the rupee appreciation and outsourcing backlash, the software exports for 2003-04 are on track to grow by 26-28 per cent.

"Software exports are on track. We are comfortably placed to meet our growth projections of 26-28 per cent," Kiran Karnik, president, National Association of Software and Service Companies, said in New Delhi on Wednesday.

During 2002-03, the software and services exports touched $9.5 billion, registering a 26.3 per cent growth.

Nasscom had predicted 26-28 per cent growth in 2003-04 in software and services exports, which would bring in revenue of $12 billion.

The projected figures include a 17 per cent growth in services, products and technology, which touched $8.4 billion, and 54 per cent growth in BPO segment that recorded a revenue of $3.6 billion.
