Rajender S Lodha, chartered accountant and the co-chairman of the M P Birla group, on Monday filed a probate at the Calcutta High Court for legal authentication of the will of Priyamvada Birla.
"We have filed the probate on behalf of R S Lodha today," Debanjan Mondal, a partner of Fox and Mondal solicitor firm, told PTI.
Priyamvada Birla had bequeathed more than Rs 5,000 crore (Rs 50 billion) worth of assets of M P Birla group to Lodha. The will, however, is being contested by the Birla family which has already filed a caveat in the court in this regard.
