The Birla family and R S Lodha have kept their options open on whether to take the legal route or to go for an out of the court settlement over the will of Priyamvada Birla.

S K Birla has stated he was in favour of a "reasonable" settlement with the Lodhas but would take legal action if Lodha did not supply a certified copy of the will for examination.

Earlier, B K Birla had told the media the family would take legal help to ensure that the property remained with it.

Meantime, sources said S K Birla was in Mumbai for meetings with associates and relatives, including Kumar Mangalam Birla, though this could not be confirmed.

The Birla family and Lodha have continued to be in touch and have held their own meetings on Sunday.

An official statement issued by the Birlas on Thursday had stated that the family only wished to secure the M P Birla group property for charity as that was the wish of MP and Priyamvada Birla.
