US firm to buy 20-25% stake in Compudyne

The United States-based Logistic Solutions Inc, a software service company, is planning to take a 20-25 per cent stake in Compudyne Winfosystems even as the two companies have decided to form a business partnership to develop business process outsourcing services in media-animation and healthcare.

LSI would pick up the stake subject to the approval of shareholders and other regulatory authorities in India and have two representatives on Compudyne's board, the Bangalore-based software development company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday.

However, the valuation has not been disclosed.

On the business partnership, Compudyne said it would also work in areas of legal-linguistics and VFX and radiology in healthcare BPO.

As per the understanding, LSI would give business of about $4 million in the first year, $8 million in the second year, and $12-15 million in the third year.

Compudyne said, apart from strengthening its marketing foothold in the US through this association, the company would also gain substantial technical skills.

It would utilise its existing capacity of 250 seats, which can be increased to 500 seats to execute these orders, it added.

LSI is a software services company in the field of telecommunications, finance, pharmaceutical, wireless, healthcare and educational markets.
