ESPN-Star Sports on Wednesday announced a rate of Rs 32 per month for its two sports channels for consumers under the conditional access system on an annual contract basis.
Consumers can now enter into an annual contract, as required in the newly emerged CAS scenario, with their cable operators, a statement from ESPN Star Sports in New Delhi said.
It said any consumer signing an annual contract for ESPN and Star Sports would also gain protection against any increase in prices of the two channels.
"The enormous cost of acquiring rights and producing live events does not allow us to offer a contract on a pay per view or a monthly basis," Sicharan Iyengar of ESPN Software Pvt Ltd said.
