Reliance Industries Ltd has posted a 26.04 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 1,263 crore (Rs 12.63 billion) for the second quarter ended September 30, 2003, compared to Rs 1,002 crore (Rs 10.02 billion) in the same period last fiscal.
The gross turnover in the reporting period has gone up to Rs 18,036 crore (Rs 180.36 billion) from Rs 16,206 crore (Rs 162.06 billion), Anil Ambani, vice-chairman, Reliance, said in Mumbai on Thursday.
Ambani said for the six months ended September 30, the company has reported an increase in net profit at Rs 2,367 crore (Rs 23.67 billion) as against Rs 1,920 crore (Rs 19.20 billion) for the corresponding period last year.
In the first half, the gross turnover rose to Rs 35,202 crore (Rs 352.02 billion) from Rs 31,782 crore (Rs 317.82 billion), while the net turnover increased to Rs 25,194 crore (Rs 251.94 billion) from Rs 22,169 crore (Rs 221.69 billion).
Exports were also up by 41 per cent at Rs 7,837 crore (Rs 78.37 billion), he added.
