NDTV announced on Thursday a distribution tie-up with One Alliance, which is a joint venture between Sony Entertainment Television and Discovery Networks India.
As per the tie-up, NDTV's English and Hindi news channels will be carried on this bouquet.
NDTV is slated to launch these two channels on March 31 this year after its contract with Star expires, the channel's president Prannoy Roy told newspersons.
The agreement was signed by Roy, SET chief executive Kunal Dasgupta and managing director of Discovery Network Deepak Shourie.
"This strategic alliance will strengthen the One Alliance's position as the leading bouquet reaching over 35 million homes," Dasgupta said.
One Alliance at present carries HBO, Sony, SET MAX, CNBC, AXN, Discovery and Animal Planet.
On the new channels being launched, Roy said these will for the first time introduce the concept of "breaking for local news events at regular intervals during the day" but declined to provide further details.
