First look: Yoga in the workplace

September 23, 2010

How often do working professionals cite lack of time as reason for their lack of exercise? If you're one of them, here's just what you need...

Yoga acharya Shameem Akhtar has launched Yoga in the Workplace, a book that presents easy yoga poses that can be practiced at the office, while at work.

Although "primarily developed for a workaholic who is committed to his or her cubicle, the book works just as well for a home-maker and the divan-loving grandparent".

Trained with the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center, Kerala, Akhtar demonstrates poses and exercises that address common health issues such as problems associated with a sedentary lifestyle, fighting fat, defusing acidity, beating stress and heart health.

Akhtar's second book, it has photographs by ace photographer Fawzan Husain, and is now available at online shops and bookshops across the country.

The book is priced at Rs 295.
