Rediff.com's Hitesh Harisinghani and Rajesh Karkera report on the Auto Expo 2018 highlight.
Away from the launches, the car lovers at Auto Expo 2018 in Greater Noida were in for a treat.
Visitors could experience the thrill of riding in an off-road vehicle at the JK Tyre Ranger Off-road Experience Zone. Ride only. Not drive. The driving was done by professional off-roaders.
The ride -- in cars like the ISUZU V-cross D-max 4x4, the Mahindra Scropio 4x4 and a modified Maruti Gypsy -- went through a series of hurdles like a 20-feet metallic hill construction, a 12-feet uneven surface made of boulders and logs and a 30-degree slanted turn which was fun even for the onlookers.
Auto-lovers also got a sneak peek into the latest tyres, which add to a vehicle's style quotient, in different areas of the Auto Expo, including India's largest off-the-road display track at the expo in Greater Noida by J K tyres.
A 12-feet tyre was also displayed at the pavilion by J K Tyres. Manufactured by JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, this is India's largest tyre.
