If you have a special memory of Karva Chauth, it's time you shared it with us.
This year, October 30 marks Karva Chauth.
Although it is widely gaining popularity across the world, it is celebrated with gusto and enthusiasm across North India; preparations begin a week in advance.
Women usually spend time shopping, choosing the perfect jewellery to match their outfit, and also deciding on the delicious food preparations to be made at home.
On the day of Karva Chauth, women dress up in beautiful sarees, sparkling jewellery and apply mehendi on their hands.
They abstain from food and water, from sunrise to moonrise.
However, this day is not only special for women. There are several men, who join in the festivities and fast along with their partners.
With less than a week to go for the festival, we want you to share your memories of Karva Chauth.
It could be your first Karva Chauth, or the time your husband did something special for you during the festival.
Write in to us at getahead@rediff.co.in (subject: My Memorable Karva Chauth) with your name, hometown and along with a photograph if possible. We'll publish the best experiences right here on Rediff.com and in India Abroad.
