Shubham Kumar Tops UPSC Exam

Shubham Kumar has topped the prestigious civil services examination 2020, results of which were declared by the Union Public Service Commission on Friday.

Jagrati Awasthi and Ankita Jain have been ranked second and third respectively.

According to ANI, Shubham graduated in BTech (Civil Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay while Jagrati, the topper among women candidates, is a BTech graduate (electrical engineering) from MANIT Bhopal.

Among the top 25 candidates, 13 are men and 12 women. The recommended candidates also include 25 persons with Benchmark Disability (7 orthopedically handicapped, 4 visually challenged, 10 hearing impaired and 4 multiple disabilities).

A total of 761 candidates -- 545 men and 216 women -- have cleared the examination.

The civil services examination is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages -- preliminary, main and interview -- to select officers of Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service, among others.
