We'd asked you, dear readers to tell us about the woman who inspires you the most.
Rediff reader Amarendra Palai writes about Charulatha Devi, a school teacher.
The woman I admire is Charulatha Devi.
She is a school teacher (headmistress) in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in the tribal district of Koraput in Odisha.
I admire her as a teacher and a human being who is inspiring tribal students.
She educates them not only as an honest and sincere teacher, but also by selflessly helping them to go for higher studies and coordinating with higher educational institutes like KISS (Kalinga Instiute of Social Science), a home for thousands of tribal students.
I believe it is only through education that we can eradicate poverty from our society.
The efforts of people, especially women like Charulatha Devi will go a long way towards achieving the goal of a poverty-free country.
