Rediff reader K Baburaj, 45 from Hyderbad shares some important lessons he learned from surviving swine flu.
I was a victim of swine flu in November 2018.
I was admitted and treated at Sunshine Hospital in Secunderabad by Dr Haricharan and team.
Based on my own experience, I feel COVID-19 may be less dangerous than H1N1.
Step out of your home only if absolutely necessary.
Whether you are infected or not, wear a mask when you step out.
Do not crowd in one place. Practice distancing.
Use of mask is made mandatory to make sure infected person/s do not spread the infection. I used a mask for 30 days even after I recovered and was in self isolation at home.
Consume protein-rich food to build your immunity.
To fight COVID-19, it is important to wash hands, every time we step out, come in or touch anything that comes from outside.
Don't panic. Follow guidelines and stay safe.
Most important of all, if you have any signs or symptoms of flu or fever, seek medical help and self isolate yourself.
