On Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, we are asking you, dear readers, to share your best memories of wearing khadi.
For most Indians, khadi is not just a fabric. It's an emotion, a legacy that connects you to the past.
From politicians to actors and designers, everyone has talked about their love for khadi -- its comfort, versatility and sustainability.
RJ Devaki of Red FM recently took to Instagram to share her association with Mahatma Gandhi, Swaraj movement and evolution of khadi.
'I was born in a family that participated in the Swaraj movement with Gandhiji.
'Honesty and simplicity were the ways of live.
'At home, from napkin to bed sheets, we had seen khadi as a part of our daily life.
'If one could associate time with fabric, I could associate all my life with #Khadi.
'Remembering my grand maa’s saree ka pallu, my godadu (comforter) made from old cloths of the house, the touch of the bed sheet on my skin, my dad’s daily wear kurta and the smell of that khadi, our regular visits to #KhadiSarita with dada all take me back in time.'
'We lost out grand parents but their memories and their touch still lives in the #khadi I wear even today.'
