A P Chaudhuri: I am 56 year old. Want to invest in Mutual Fund. My investments will be one time. Basic idea is to get more return as compared to conventional investments like FD/NSC etc. Pls suggest a few of the Mutual Funds with good return.

I have divided my portfolio into large cap, mid/flexi cap and small cap based on my risk appetite. I am not investing in DEBT MFs as I prefer PF, PPF and FDs for Debit investments.

I am also planning to invest additional 10k and considering below options to give exposure to different markets/ sectors. Can you please provide your thoughts on this?

Also, I am a bit worried about taxation as I fall in 30% tax bracket so if I need money in emergency (over and above my emergency funds) then it may reduce any gains due to tax liability. Can you please also advise on this?
Omkeshwar Singh: You will not be taxed on your income tax bracket for equity funds but on long term capital gain tax and that is 10%

I am 30 years (Both are same age) from Bangalore, have been investing in mutual fund from 1+ years.
