The YouTube star had some inspiring words for women of colour.
Canadian comedian and YouTube sensation Lilly Singh has always been supportive of women across the world.
Right from owning her sexuality to being a proud feminist, Lilly's campaigns and videos also emphasise about 'girl power' encouraging women to love themselves for who they are.
The 32-year-old star recently took to Instagram to inspire some positivity among women of colour.
Sharing a picture of her no make-up look, here's what Lilly wrote:
'Dear fellow Women of Colour, today during my meditation I specifically thought of you.
'I thought about how much resilience you have in your body and soul, that you had no choice but to build.
'I thought about how no matter how hard you work, you may not be valued as much as you should be.
'I thought about how being in the minority means that you will seldom be given the benefit of the doubt, but often given a lazy label.
'I thought about how much more harshly you will be critiqued for everything you do (or don’t do), compared to your male and White counterparts.
'I thought about how more often than not, the harshest critique will come from your own community because they too are desperately trying to see themselves in the world.
'I thought about all the times you’ve tried to work through your trauma and experience, only to be told it doesn’t exist in the first place.
'I thought about how bittersweet your journey is, as it’s filled with the honour of building a necessary path but simultaneously requires being thrashed by systems that do not want you to build.
'I thought about how when you are in rooms that mistreat you, you are told to be grateful to even be there.
'It is not easy to be us but it is god damn beautiful to be us.
'Sometimes the weight of it all feels overbearing but knowing I walk with you is the only thing that brings me any ease.
'Dear Women of Colour, I'm so proud of you. Thank you for what you do. I cannot wait to see where our resilience takes us. We will leave this world better than we found it. I love you.'
