Aneeth Arora may come across as shy and reticent. But when it comes to fashion, the designer's thoughts translate beautifully into stylish garments.

Her latest collection, Locked In Love, is inspired by the Kawai Japanese street style fashion culture of Harajuku.

Aneeth took us on a nostalgia trip, using traditional bullion and French knots for embroidery. Photographs: Kind courtesy Lakme Fashion Week

She also mixed Mashru, gabardine and taffeta sourced from south India and sheer, lightweight, stripes woven in Banaras with printed and woven motifs.

Laser cuts, along with hand-folded petals made using fabrics, were employed to create surface ornamentation in the form of wreaths and trellises.

Aneeth also collaborated with the shoe brand, Grounds, from Japan. Grounds is known for their signature high and transparent soles. Upcycled hand embroidery and flower sequins complete the look.

The use of lace, ribbons and bows brought in a fresh sense of innocence.
