National award winning designer Gaurang Shah presented his latest collection at the Lakme Fashion Week 2020.

The Taramati collection featured 30 heritage handwoven saris from Golconda era.

Take a look!

Taramati was inspired by the 'courtesan who dazzled the seventh sultan of Golconda, Abdulla Qutub Shah,' Gaurang wrote about his latest work. Photographs: Kind courtesy Lakme Fashion Week

The designer played with surface embroidery as his colour palette moved from beige, wine, green and yellow, to brighter colours like purple and pink.

The saris had a melange of styles, prints and weaves, including Ikat, Kanchi, Patan Kota, Uppada, Banarasi, Kani, Venkatagiri, Paithani and Jamdani.

Each of the saris had a timeless appeal.

The models, flowers adorning their traditionally styled hair, brought back stunning memories of a once flourishing era.
