What: The Union Public Service Commission invites applications for the Geologists' Examination, 2006, for recruitment to the posts of Junior Geologists.
The examinations will be held by Union Public Service Commission in December.
Are you eligible?
~ You must be not less than 21 years old and not more than 32 years old as on January 1, 2006.
~ You could hold a Master's degree in Geology, Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognised university.
~ Or a Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.
~ Or a Master's degree in Mineral Exploration from a recognised university.

How to apply?
~ You must use the common application form devised by the Commission for its examinations.
~ Obtain the application form from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices (specified in Appendix III of the notice) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs 20.
~ Each such form can be used only once and only for one examination.
~ In case of any difficulty in obtaining the application forms from the designated HPOs/ POs, you should immediately contact the concerned Post Master.

Important dates
~ Please send in your completed application form before July 17.
~ For candidates residing abroad or in certain remote localities specified in the notice, the last date for receipt of the completed application form is July 24.
