Product of the Year is the global consumer recognition standard that celebrates champions and rewards the best innovations in retail products done through an independent consumer survey across the country. Product of the Year India Pvt Ltd entered the Indian market with the POY 2009 awards that celebrated innovative products in 26 distinct categories through a massive survey involving 40,000 Indian consumers across 36 centres.
This year, they have extended the scope to accommodate products from 38 categories which include FMCG, durables, mobiles, electronics, household and kitchen appliances, stationery to clothing & accessories etc.
The award:
Each entry undergoes a tough screening through the eminent POY Jury members and only then is passed on to the next level of nationwide consumer survey by AC Nielsen. The winner is the product which has managed to score the maximum consumer votes and thus gets the title of the 'Product of the year 2010' for that category.

The award ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Lawns, Taj Lands End, Bandra, Mumbai from 6 pm onwards.
