IIM-C's PG diploma in computer-aided management

What: Indian Institute of Management Calcutta announces admission to the Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Aided Management (PGDCM) 2010-12.

Course details

The programme covers the following spheres of learning:

(a) Uunderstanding different domains of organisations and related functional areas of management

(b) Understanding the role of ICT in Management

(c) Understanding of ICT-enabled enterprise systems and

(d) Understanding tools and methodologies of business analytics with the aim of using data creatively for better decision making.

Curriculum

In the revised course structure effective from academic year 2008-09, all compulsory courses get over in the first year. The list of compulsory courses is developed around the following five building blocks:

(i) Understanding the basics of disciplines and functions of business management

(ii) Understanding the environment and society

(iii) Knowing ICT tools well and

(iv) Knowing application areas of ICT

Selection criteria

PGDCM applicants, like post graduate diploma in management (PGDM) applicants, should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT). Applications are advised to refer to the CAT advertisement released in leading newspapers on August 30, 2009. CAT eligibility for PGDCM is the same as for PGDM.

The interview shortlist will be prepared based on multiple criteria such as CAT score, academic performance and relevant work experience.

The shortlisted candidates will appear for separate PGDCM group discussion/personal interview (GD/PI), which will also evaluate candidates' competence and interest in ICT.

How to apply

At the time of registration for CAT 2009, select PGP-PGDCM along with the options. There will be no separate application form, payment, or test for admission to this programme.
