The US Department of Transportation has just put into effect a new set of rules to safeguard air travellers' interests.
ABC News reported yesterday that new passenger protection measures will see fines imposed on airlines for losing baggage and kicking travellers off overbooked flights.
Isn't that something? With our fuddled flight times, endless delays, lost luggage and other air-travel nightmares, don't you wish our Government would come up with a similar plan?
Just imagine an Indian airline having to recompense you for misplacing your luggage or its failure to arrive on time! Or paying you for every added hour's delay past its schedule.
