Two designers initially claimed to have designed the blue bandhgala that Virat Kohli wore to the Mumbai reception!

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have been wearing designs by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee to all their wedding functions.

So when the duo's Mumbai reception pics were circulated on social media, people -- including the designer -- assumed the cricketer was wearing a Sabyasachi bandhgala.

The designer put up details about the outfit on his Instagram page too -- he went ahead to describe the bandhgala with handcrafted vintage gold buttons.

However, much to our surprise designer Raghvendra Rathore uploaded a pic on Instagram claiming that the design was his.

'The groom looks dapper in a classic style number RJ19 #Rathore #Bandhgala and #Breeches at his wedding reception while the bride dazzles in a @sabyasachiofficial,' he wrote, adding, 'A true testament to classic styling that can never fade! Kudos to the captain and his beautiful bride.'

The confusion didn't linger on for too long as Sabyasachi too realised that Virat's bandhgala was not one of his creations.

Apologising for the mistaken identity on Instagram, the designer wrote, 'For her Mumbai reception, Anushka wanted to wear old world glamour. And we decided to 'jazz' it up in smoky grey. Hand-beaten silver thread, textured sequins and cut organza flowers were assembled on an embroidered tulle base to create an ethereal lehenga.

'Award-winning master craftsmen from Lucknow rendered her stunning dupatta, which was clinched on the waist with our 'Bengal tiger' belt.

Anushka’s look was accessorised with a necklace and earrings handcrafted with rose cut diamonds, solitaires and briolettes from the Sabyasachi fine jewelry collection.'

He added, 'And BTW @virat.kohli looks absolutely dapper in a @raghavendra.rathore.

'We had made a very similar piece and in the confusion of the great Indian wedding the credits got swapped. Mr Mukherjee is personally a huge fan of the Rathore label and deeply regrets the error.'

Apparently Virat had tried out bandhgalas by both the designers before settling for the final one.
