PIX: The veiled brides of Istanbul

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul kicked off its 11th edition.

Designer Zeynep Tosun, whose creations have been worn by Lady Gaga, presented her collection which was inspired by strong women.  

Zeynep has been promoting the hashtag #letsrisetogether and her collection threw the spotlight on handicrafts by Turkish women.

The collection began with models walking the ramp in grey dresses, paired with knee-length boots and veils.

Take a closer look at the collection which featured Turkish handicrafts. While the designer played around with classic designs, she kept the accessories contemporary. 

 

Sheer dresses dominated the collection. 

 

Apart from colours like beige, ivory and grey, the collection was peppered with red outfits. 

 

The designer didn't stick to the ordinary and played around with colours and designs.
