Find out why everyone is talking about these outfits.

No awards function is complete without its share of controversies, goof-ups and trends.

Presenting five such looks from the recently concluded Oscars that are trending on social media.

Actor Saoirse Ronan hit the red carpet in a Calvin Klein strapless pink silk dress with bow detailing. It was hard to ignore the fact that the gown looked very reminiscent of the Ralph Lauren gown which Gwyneth Paltrow wore to the 1999 Oscars. Critics felt that Saoirse was copying Gwyneth's look at the time she won the Oscars for Shakespeare in Love.

Posing effortlessly on the red carpet in her baby pink gown with a giagantic bow, Saoirse Ronan made sure all eyes were on her. The actor completed the look with Christian Louboutin court shoes and wowed her fans.

Rita Moreno wore a gown from 1962 and Twitter went beserk. We still can't wrap our heads around how a gown from the 60s lasted this long.

While we'd have expected Salma Hayek to score brownie points for her look at the Oscars, sadly the actor's gown was trashed and made headlines for being ugly. She was touted as the worst dressed on the red carpet. Ouch!

Meryl Streep's scarlet Christian Dior gown with a plunging neckline reminded people of the Fairy Godmother from Shrek. On Twitter, people also conducted a poll to find out who wore it better, the Fairy Godmother or Meryl.

Faye Dunaway attends the 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in the same gown she wore to the  Annual Academy Awards last year, when she along with Warren Beatty announced the wrong Best Picture Winner. This year she returned to the Oscars red carpet in the same gown to prove that she can hand out the proper Oscar and also win fashion repeating a look.
