The Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019 had a fashionable start on Tuesday evening.

The five-day event which ends February 3, will see hundreds of designers showcase their designs at Jio Gardens in Mumbai.

Designer Gaurav Gupta's curtain raiser show had not one, but two stunning showstoppers.

Check out these fabulous pictures.

Tabu opened the show for Gaurav Gupta.

The actor looked spectacular in a grey gown with hand embroidered flowers. She finished her look with parted hair and bright red lips.

Uff...that smile!

Karan Johar surprised everyone as he closed the show for the designer.

The director producer who's known for his eclectic taste in fashion made a striking entry in his red and black sequinned ensemble.

Gaurav's collection was titled The Unfolding.

The designer stuck to his quintessential structured detailing in the outfits.

The menswear saw interesting jackets with floral prints and embroidery.

'The inspiration behind the collection is that it is an unfolding of a new idea for me. I always want to make something original, innovate within my art in couture and demi-couture. This collection is an unfolding of a new chapter, unfolding of a new line of Indian textiles turned into demi-couture garments,' Gupta told the PTI.

The showstoppers pose with the talented designer who started his career with the GenNext show at LFW.

What a splendid show!
