How to stay stylish from day to night

March 20, 2016 13:12 IST

Designers Anita Dongre and Rajesh Pratap Singh's affair with simplicity and glamour put the curtains down on Day 2 at Amazon India Fashion Week Fall 2016.

Paying a tribute to the myriad crafts of India, Anita Dongre's brand Grassroot showcased the collection 'Earth Song' -- that is nature inspired -- comprising easy-to-wear outfits. The collection resonated with today's woman and proved that sustainable can also be fashionable.

Meanwhile, Rajesh Pratap Singh's 'Gold Rush' collection had metallic fashion at its best. From blending whites and golds to playing with extravagant fabrics, the designer nailed it to perfection.

Earth Song by Anita Dongre Grassroot

Image: Take lessons on how to wear prints -- Either opt for Lakshmi Rana's asymmetrical cotton number with a scarf around the neck or add dhoti folds to the dress like Sony Kaur.

Image: Models queued up in straight cut ensembles with intricate touches of Kantha embroidery. Here, Rachel Bayros leads a group in an ombre jumpsuit paired with a cape.

Image: We love this halter-neck cotton midi. Don't miss the bow shaped hairdo on the side.

Gold Rush by Rajesh Pratap Singh

Image: Sucheta Sharma blended ethnic wear with androgynous style and how. She donned a golden jacket over a crisp white shirt and a pleated patterned skirt.

Image: What a scintillating combination of gold and satin! We loved the way Rajesh played with floral prints all over this maxi dress.

Image: Ugochi's metallic gold pant suit or Sanea Sheikh's silver cropped flared pants with a thigh-length cape... what's your pick?

Image: Model Aishwarya Sushmita's de-cluttered shirt dress with a splash of gold was one of the key pieces from the collection.
