The Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016 just got over.

And we have a dozen of hot trends you need to stock in your wardrobe right away.

Check out the latest styles spotted at the five-day long fashion fiesta.

1. Colour me BLACK

IMAGE: When in doubt, wear black. That's what was on the mind of most designers at LFW. 
From emerging to established designers, they all played with black to create snazzy ensembles.
Which one of these do you like? (left) New designer Esha Amiin's tutu frock, (centre) designer-duo Shantanu and Nikhil's embroidered off-shoulder jumpsuit with a red jacket, or (right) master couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee's embellished maxi?

2. Sexy saris

IMAGE: Chanderi, Kanjivaram, Benarasi, Nuni silk saris... name it and we saw all.
Add glam to your festive or bridal avatar with six yards of tradition.
Presenting Sony Kaur dressed in a Swati Vijaivargie sari with Gopashtami Pichwai painting from Nathdwara (left) and a gorgeous Kanjivaram silk sari from Santosh Parekh draped on Ilana Davies, a Canberra-born model who thinks the burkini ban is ridiculous.

3. Pretty prints

IMAGE: Ever thought of clashing prints together?
Boys can take inspiration from Ajay Kumar's printed jacket with wide lapels over a front cowl kurta, high waist trousers and a wrap shirt, and girls take a cue from (right) model Ritu Chauhan who donned a fully embroidered pantsuit from Architha Narayanam's collection.

4. Monochrome magic

IMAGE: The classic monochrome trend in aplomb and how! Easy-to-wear ethnic fashion as seen on (left) Sucheta Sharma and western silhouettes (right) from designer Ashish Soni's collection.
This white-black colour palette is sure to dominate the fashion scenes.

5. Chic cropped tops

IMAGE: A statement in themselves, cropped tops can be worn with anything and everything.
Wear it over a pair of denims, skirts or even shorts.

6. Hello homegrown textiles!

IMAGE: Salute LFW! This season paid homage to homegrown textiles.
Blending Indian fabrics with various silhouettes and designing new-age ensembles were a treat to the eyes.
Sucheta Sharma sports a Runway Bicycle full-sleeve shirt and skirt (left), while Dipti Sharma puts on Sanjay Garg's silk separates.

7. Jazzy jackets

IMAGE: Stripes, motifs or embroidery, patterns on jackets were seen in abundance. Choose the one that suits you best and you are good to go.

8. The sleeve story

IMAGE: Sleeves can give a whole different look to your attire. Don't believe us?
Gen Next designers Sidhu Ji brought back the bishop sleeve (left), while Diming Rubu worked a breezy affair with bell sleeves. Which one do you like?

9. WOW velvet!

IMAGE: A game-changing look for most brides, velvets can never go out of fashion. So rich and luxe, this fabric lent a royal touch to Sabyasachi Mukherjee's embroidered mini worn by model Surelee Joseph (left) and Manish Malhotra's bridal lehengas that simply dropped our jaws.

10. Crafty capes

IMAGE: Want to feel like a super-woman? Wear chic capes.

11. Fur fashion

IMAGE: Soft, fine fur is in vogue. With designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil bringing regimental fashion back to the closet for men (left), Sabyasachi Mukherjee presented a glamorous way to pair it up with heavily-embellished bridal gowns.
Wonder if the animal rights lobby has seen this yet!
