The annual Victoria's Secret Runway Show isn't just about skinny supermodels in barely-there outfits.

It just happens to be one very expensive affair. This year it was worth $20 million!

This has only been the second time that the show has been held outside the United States.

According to Victoria's Secret, the show is watched by at least 500 million people across 192 countries. And for good reason.

The highlight of the show is the Fantasy Bra, one of the most expensive pieces of garment to be produced.

This year, breaking tradition, the company showcased two Fantasy Bras instead of one, modelled by Brazilian models Adriana Lima (L) and Alessandra Ambrosio.

These exquisite pieces of garment have been created by jeweller, Mouawad.

Each contain 16,000 precious stones including diamonds, rubies and sapphires and are valued at $2 million.

Singer Taylor Swift did an encore this year but we did quite like her last year's runway outfit a lot more.

Then there was British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran who performed his hit Thinking Out Loud as models walked the catwalk in colourful outfits inspired by exotic destinations.

Also performing was the Broadway star Ariana Grande who at one point during the show almost hit the 'wings' of a model! :-)

So what else happened during the show?

Let's see. Model Karlie Kloss seemed mighty impressed with Taylor Swift's crooning.

Adriana Lima looked stunning (as always) in black. As did her fellow model Cindy Bruna.

Alessandra Ambrosio (R) blew kisses as did Doutzen Kroes, who made a stunning return to the catwalk barely months after delivering her baby!

That's Doutzen Kroes again on the left, alongside Jourdan Dunn who was number five in Forbes' list of highest earning models of the year.

Polish model Jac Jagaciak is seen here as part of the 'Pink' segment, a lingerie line targeted at the younger crowd.

Also modelling designs from the same segment were the Latvian model Ieva Laguna (L) and the 23-year-old Jacquelyn Jablonski.

Model Candice Swanepoel took our breath away.

As did Ming Xi!

Model Izabeli Fontana seemed to love every moment of being on the runway (who wouldn't?)!

Model Kelly Gale blew a kiss (and our legs turned to jelly)

And Joan Smalls made a comeback in this rather colourful number.

Then there was the wife of Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, model Behati Prinsloo, (who we are given to believe had a minor meltdown minutes before she went on the runway).

Sui He the second model of Chinese descent to walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show seemed at home on the ramp.

And we wind up with this picture of model Izabel Goulart blowing a kiss!
