OnePlus' latest comes packed with loads of goodies.
The much awaited OnePlus 6 launched in India on May 17!
It comes with a glass back and a major design change.
Like it or not, the Chinese philia for notch continues in the latest OnePlus.
The good part is the notch can be hidden using a software option -- you can black out the sides of the screen around the notch.

Missing flagship features
Design
This time OnePlus embraces glass to give it a more premium look.
The innards are packed into an aluminum chassis, sandwiched by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 in the front and a curved glass at the back.
Despite the glass rear panel, the wireless charging option is missing in this one.
This one comes with 6.28 inch Optic AMOLED display resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio.
There is a swap between the alert slider and the SIM slot in the new design with respect to previous generation OnePlus 5T.
The alert slider moves to the right above the power button and SIM slot is placed on the left above the volume rocker.
The noise cancellation microphone is moved to the top of the rim.
On the rear, the dual cameras are aligned vertically in the centre and comes with a camera bump.
The finger print scanner rests below the dual camera setup.
Camera
For camera, there is no change in mega pixels numbers from the OnePlus 5T. But the rear camera comes with the most wanted OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) addition; so we can expect improved low light photography.
The rear dual camera comes with 16 MP, f/1.7 wide aperture with Sony IMX 519 sensor having pixel size of 1.22 µm.
The second camera is a 20 MP, f/1.7 aperture with Sony IMX 376K sensor having pixel size of 1.0 µm.
The camera supports 4K video recording at 30/60 fps and slow motion video recording of 1080p at 240 fps, 720p video at 480 fps.
The front camera remains the same as OnePlus 5T -- 16 MP, f/2.0 with Sony IMX 371 sensor having pixel size of 1.0 µm.
Hardware
The phone runs on latest flagship CPU from Qualcomm's stable as Snapdragon 845, an octa-core 10nm chipset, clocked up to 2.8 GHz.
The CPU is embedded with Adreno 630 for graphics.
The phone will be available in three variants -- 6 GB ROM / 64 GB ROM; 8 GB ROM / 128 GB ROM and 8 GB ROM / 256 GB ROM.
There is no memory card slot.
OnePlus retains the 3.5mm audio jack for your old favorite headsets and has a bottom facing loud speaker, minus the stereo speaker.
OnePlus 6 has a USB 2.0 Type-C for charging, data transfer. It supports USB audio.
The power is gained from a 3300 mAh battery which supports OnePlus's proprietary DASH fast charging.
The phone is water resistant but not IP rating certified, so you cannot just take it for a swim, yet.
OnePlus 6 will be available in three colours -- mirror black, midnight black and silky white.
There is also a limited edition Avenger version for the fans.
It will go on sale on May 21, 12 pm onward on Amazon.
Software
It comes with Oxygen OS based on Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box.
Verdict
Considering how it comes packed with top-notch hardware and has avoided few flagship features, OnePlus looks like a promising investment.
For a price of ₹34,999 (for 6 plus 64 GB variant); ₹39,999 (8 plus 128 GB) and ₹44,999 (8 plus 256 GB Avenger edition) it may just be worth your money if you don't mind sacrificing a few features.
