5 reasons why the Sony Xperia C3 makes the cut as one of the best selfie smartphones in the market today.
Close on the heels of ‘selfie’ making its way to the dictionary, smartphone makers have added their bit by exclusively making products that capture selfies. These phones have an enhanced preference for front cameras for better self-portraits.
Sony has launched the new Xperia C3 smartphone, which is also called as the selfie phone.
We find out if the Sony Xperia C3 is worthy of the tag.
The numbers game
Sony has ensured the front camera is the best in its segment; the Xperia C3 comes with a 5 megapixel front facing camera, which is better than any other smartphone.
Even devices costing Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000 do not get 5-megapixel camera and this means higher resolution images for selfies.
It even has 720p video recording, which is better than most of the competition.
Wide angle

Majority of the front facing cameras on smartphones are made for video conferencing like Skype and FaceTime. This means that the camera lens has a narrow angle just for your face.
But with the Sony Xperia C3, the front camera is wide angled, which means you do not need those long hands anymore for group selfies.
The wide angle ensures room for more people to fit in the frame than just one person.
Light moments
One of the major complaints with front facing cameras is that they cannot be used in the dark. The Xperia C3 also gets a front flash, which means no dark moments and you can capture images even in the dark.
This is one of the first smartphones to get this unique feature.
Easy to hold
The Sony Xperia C3 has a 5.5-inch screen, but yet it is just 7.6mm thick. This makes it easy to hold the device with one hand.
So, the large screen gives you good vision for the image and it is easy to hold too.
Dedication
To click an image, you do not need to reach out to the press button on the touch screen; it is difficult we understand that.
For this reason, the Sony Xperia C3 comes with a dedicated camera button on the right side, so one can click a selfie with ease, just like a digital camera.
There are a couple of downsides to this phone:
The device costs Rs 23,990 and comes in three colours: black, white and mint green.
