Here's why Sony Xperia Z3 will beat iPhone 6 hollow

Apple's iPhone 6 has just landed on Indian shores. What is more surprising is its pricing rather than the innovation that has gone into the device. This is coming from an Apple fanboy who owns all the latest gadgets made by the California-based company. Someone who is submerged in the Apple’s ocean of products is now seeing the outside world.

In a recent comparison with the Sony Xperia Z3, I learnt how the Z3 is better than iPhone 6.

Price

The Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 compact are much more price-effective than the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

In India, the Z3 that competes with the iPhone 6 Plus is cheaper as the former costs Rs 51,990, which is lesser than the iPhone 6 Plus priced at Rs 62,500; even the iPhone 6 is expensive than the Z3.

The iPhone 5S that was launched last December now costs about Rs 34,000 on several e-commerce websites. This means that iPhone price has dropped by about 50 per cent even if it comes to resale. It was never the situation with Apple products before.

Durability

The Xperia Z3 gets an advantage of being dust and water-resistant. The iPhone 6 seems better built and even the quality of the phone is better than the Z3.

But then, if I want to take images from my phone under water I can do that with ease with he Z3, and I’m assured that it will be fine. I can continue talking in the rain, without any uncertainty in my mind.

You can be carefree with the Sony Xperia Z3 in these situations; with iPhone 6 you need to be more careful.

Battery life

The battery life of the Xperia Z3 compact is much better than iPhone 6. This means your phone battery won’t drain out as fast as the iPhone 6.

The Stamina Mode on the Sony Xperia Z3 helps improve its battery life. Sony does a good job of battery consumption despite Android being less efficient than Apple.

Camera

Now, without getting into the numbers game, we can do a quick preview of the camera.

The Sony Xperia Z3 gets a dedicated camera button; it has a wide-angle front camera and the most important aspect is the 4K video recording feature it gets from Sony Technology. There is also the screen video recording technology on the Xperia Z3, which is uncommon and not very useful to many.

But the fact is that such a feature could have more scope in future and can replace multiple cameras. This technology also allows you to record from another Sony Xperia Z3 phone.

Magnetic charging

Sony doesn’t support wireless charging. However it does have the option of magnetic charging. This is an optional buy and will be soon made available in India. You can order one from Amazon in the UK.
