Oppo's subsidiary Realme has launched its latest budget friendly phone, Realme 2, just after two months after it launched Realme 1.
The Realme 2, which follows the popular notch design, has a 19:9 display aspect ratio on a 6.2” screen.
The other upgrade, with respect to its predecessor, is that the phone comes with hefty 4230 mAh battery, a dual camera setup and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 450 System on Chip.
The display resolution, however, is downgraded from Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) to HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels).
The Realme 2 uses Artificial Intelligence technology for power management during application processing and for other tasks running on Color OS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
On the rear, there is a dual camera setup -- the primary with 13 MP, f/2.2 and secondary with 2 MP for depth sensing.
Both the front and rear cameras offer beauty mode using AI Beautification 2.0.
The front display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and the back is covered with a reflective diamond cut design cover.
The phone will be available in diamond black, diamond red and diamond blue colours.
The phone is priced at Rs 8,990 for 3 GB + 32 GB variant and Rs 10,990 for a 4 GB + 64 GB variant.
The sale will commence at noon, September 4 onwards, only for diamond red and diamond black options; the diamond blue will be available from early October onwards.
Let's compare the phone with its near competitor, the Xiaomi Redmi Y2.
