The Indian automotive industry hasn't remained untouched by the revolutionary innovations that occurred in the past decades. Several car buyers today are now making their purchase decisions based on the features and tech available in their desired vehicle. In fact, they are ready to change their favourite brand if they don't find the technology they want.

And car manufacturers are constantly doing their homework to put in maximum comfort and convenience they can in their best-selling cars.

We list five new and popular models which are equipped with cutting-edge technologies.

Hyundai Venue

The compact SUV from the Korean brand needs no introduction. Hyundai brought intelligent manual transmission (iMT) in Venue which has been garnering positive feedbacks across the country. It is a clutch-by-wire system that doesn't require the driver to continuously use clutch and pedal as opposed to normal manual transmission driving.

The two-pedal system is the first of its kind technology that works automatically by taking the control of clutch -- the driver just needs to up and down the gear lever to manoeuvre the vehicle.

This enables a pure clutch-free automatic driving experience without restricting the use of a manual gearbox. The iMT enhances the driving experience and gives the driver more control over the vehicle.

Another valuable feature in the Hyundai Venue is the BlueLink technology which is an AI-based system that offers 33 different features in the safety, security, convenience and efficiency departments. These include live traffic information, live car location sharing, remote climate control, SOS/emergency assistance, Stolen Vehicle Tracking & Immobilization and Monthly Health Report and Driver Behaviour/Information among others.

MG ZS EV

The British automaker's foray into electric vehicles segment was marked by some of the best-in-class technologies never introduced in a car in India. The MG ZS EV comes with an iSmart EV 2.0 infotainment unit which consists of over 50 connected features.

Powered by a 6-core processor and 3GB RAM, the iSmart EV works through an embedded Machine to Machine eSIM incorporating IPV6 (internet protocol version 6) connected with 5G.

The 8-inch HD screen interface is also integrated with several advanced connectivity solutions such as the provision of locating nearby charging stations, navigation, emergency concierge services, remotely lock-unlock car, AI-based voiced assistant and pre-installed infotainment content. The infotainment also checks all the right boxes by offering Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and OTA updates as well.

Nissan Magnite

The Magnite is a sub-compact SUV that has been making a lot of noise in the automotive circle today. The reason for its blistering success in the Indian market is the oodles of features it offers.

One of the major highlights of Nissan Magnite is the new 360-degree camera setup which is normally seen in luxury cars. The 360-degree camera does what is required from a parking camera but in a different way. The camera generates a single image of a 360-degree view of the car taking the help of four different cameras, one at the front, two at each side and one at the rear.

The system enables the driver to see obstacles all around in a single image enabling easy driving through congested traffic and making car parking effortless especially in tight spaces.

The car also comes with Nissan Connect with 50+ features & smartwatch connectivity for getting round-the-clock safety, security and convenience.

Other reasons for Nissan Magnite's popularity are the first-in-segment advanced drive-assist display and first-in-class wireless connectivity to Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.

Mahindra XUV300

The homegrown carmaker introduced the XUV300 compact SUV to compete with some of the giants in the segment. The car is still playing safe in terms of sales and one of the reasons is the seal of the safest car in its class.

The XUV300 achieved 5-stars at Global NCAP crash tests for adult passenger and 4-stars in child passenger safety.

The SUV comes with BlueSense Plus which is an eSIM based system that offers 40+ connected features such as vehicle alerts, infotainment controls, live vehicle tracking, car lock/unlock and intuitive controls at the fingertips.

Kia Seltos

Kia made its India debut with a car that competes in the hottest segment i.e. the compact SUV category.

With the Seltos, Kia introduced some of the cool features that make it a tempting buy. One of the key highlights of this car is the UVO connected car technology which offers 50 smart features for a futuristic experience in the safety, vehicle management and convenience departments.

The technology comes in the form of a 10-inch unit which allows functions like navigation and car tracking, SOS-Emergency assistance, remote AC/engine/lock controlling, and air purifier management. It can also perform various other operations using AI-based voice controls such as phone dialling, weather updates, playing music and setting temperature among others.

With breakthroughs being continuously made in the field of technologies used in four-wheelers, the coming years will surely bring a tech bonanza for car buyers.
