The stunning Malaika Arora – age refuses to touch her! -- walked the ramp for Anushree Reddy on Day Four of the on-going Lakme Fashion Week.
The lovely sunset yellow and green lehenga she was wearing grabbed everyone’s attention.
“The collection is called Sitara,” says the designer.
“It is about the new-age bride who is free-spirited with her feet on the floor and eyes on the sky.
“The colour palette is mostly reds and muted pinks and beige.
“What the showstopper, Malaika, is wearing is a little pop of colour, a sunset greenish yellow, which is different compared to the rest of the collection.”
Malaika adds, “It is wonderful to be back at LFW. There is a certain love and warmth that I have for the fashion week.
“When Anushree approached me, I knew what her clothes are all about and I know she will do complete justice to a bride to-be.
“I got really excited when I saw the colour and that excitement doubled when I wore the outfit.
“My outfit is really stunning and each one of the pieces is really lovely. Today’s brides are far more experimental. They want to try something new and edgy. That’s something really good.”
Talking about being a trendsetter, Malaika says, “It feels good to know that you inspire people. At the same time, it is a bit of a responsibility.
“You need to inspire people in the right way… like inspiring people to be fit. I think people take fitness very lightly,” she adds.
Here are some more glimpses from the Sitara collection.
