The most important things for an employee is to understand the company, its working style, rules, and values.

But one should also keep in mind their dressing style (what to wear at workplace is essential too). The dress you wear to meetings, business interactions, communicates how professional and serious you are about the job.

Thus, it is always advisable to plan ahead 'about what you are going to wear to work on a daily basis.

A good appropriate workplace attire, should be something in which you can feel confident, comfortable, and prepared.

Listed below are five styling tips that employee needs to avoid in the workplace.

Dressing too boldly! Keep it professional

Wearing vibrant, fluorescent, multi-coloured dresses might represent your style, status, and signature look, but carrying such look at workplace is a big 'NO'.

It is always advisable to avoid bold, vibrant colours and designs.

Loud colours, distracting patterns like floral, stripes, dots, damask, and shiny fabrics take away the attention from what you are discussing.

Your co-workers and clients want to focus on what you are saying, but such patterns create distractions and cause negative effects.

Women at work shouldn't dress to impress, they should simply wear a collared shirt or blouse with a pair of trousers/pants.

Go with all-time favourite monochromatic pattern

Wearing a dark shirt with a dark-coloured pant is an evening attire. However, light and dark colour combination would give you a professional look.

It is a favourite combination for an employee and remains eye-pleasing for the clients too. You can also wear kurtis, leggings, suits, blazers, corporate skirts, etc.

Don't go overboard with makeup

It is important to look good every day at the workplace, hence clean fresh dewy makeup is always sought after. Try to keep your look natural.

Keep accessories to the minimum

Ladies, girls should avoid excessive jewellery and irrelevant accessories.

Say no to heavy, shiny neck pieces, chandelier earrings, big hoops. But wearing a simple chain, bracelet, watch, and studs are always appreciated.

As far as the footwear is concerned, women should not wear shoes or high heels more than three inches at work (unless it is an occasion).

Don't ignore your hair

Hair style also plays an important role. When you step out, don't forget to manage your hair.

Women should tie-up their hair in a neat bun or a pony tail and experiment with braids.

The idea is to keep hair away from the face letting it not be a distraction.

Lastly, make sure your clothes are clean, well ironed, and you smell fresh.

Turning up well dressed, and well groomed not only shows respect to the company but also your co-workers and helps portray a professional image.
