Aparna Inamdar: My son is doing his MS in MIS at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ. He has completed two terms. Now looking for a job. What is your advice for him?
NNS Chandra: Aparna, great place your son is studying. Excellent training. Opportunities are there.
Mari Muthu: How much scholarships one will get for studying PhD? Coming from oppressed class in India will that make a difference?
NNS Chandra: Dear Mari Mutthu, most doctoral candidate should be receiving funds for their research. Should be, generally, enough to cover the cost of living and tuition/fees and book etc. And it all depends on university, departments and professors doctoral candidates are attached with, right?
Easwaran Degra: I got an e-mail from MAA on pre registration for AMC. I want my son to take it. And get trained. Your name is mentioned again. How to proceed for training?
NNS Chandra: Thanks for the interest in Math, Easwaran. MAA endorses several training products or rather recommends. Check MAA sites and TLPS sites. tlups.com Let me know if you need specific information.
JItender: Hello Mr Chandra, Jitender again sir. My daughter did write AMC 8. She is planning to do AMC 10 this year. Please guide her.
NNS Chandra: I am glad to note that Jitender. Appreciate her interest in Maths. Yes. She can talk to MAA or TLPS India. They guide her for AMC 10.
Dinesh Pokenwallah: Sir, I want to know more about the research methodology training programs? Are these credited program?
NNS Chandra: Hi Dinesh, which RMT program are you referring to?
Generally ones offered by university should carry credits. Even delivered online. For example, research methodology training program which is offered in top universities l would require 128 plus hours of course work, assignments, project work and should meet requirements of a full credit.
Babu Pillai: Can you recommend me universities for studying engineering in Germany?
NNS Chandra: Hi Babu Pillai, I would love to have you more data before suggesting a list. Yet, I would encourage you to consider Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) Munich a top university on your list., then University of Heidelberg, Technical University of Munich, Humboldt University Berlin etc should be considered, in my opinion.
