GATE 2015 registration extended to October 20

The last date to register for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2015 has been extended to October 20, 2014. Read on for details.

According to the official GATE 2015 website, the last date to submit your application for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2015 has been extended from October 14 to October 20, 2014.

However, the above privilege is only for candidates who already have an enrollment ID; no fresh enrollments will be made.

The announcement on the official GATE 2015 website says: "Candidates having an enrollment ID can complete the application submission process and the payment till 11:55 PM, 20th October 2014.

After October 20, 2014, neither online application can be submitted, nor any payment can be made."

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an online examination, administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

It tests engineering graduates for comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. 

The GATE 2015 score will be valid for a period of three years from the date of announcement of results.

The examination will be held in 2015 on January 31, February 1, 7, 8 and 14.

With several public sector firms considering GATE scores for various job openings, the number of candidates taking the exam has increased significantly since 2011.
