Only 3 Indian institutes in top 200 universities in the world

The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi is the top ranked university in India.

The annual Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2018 is out.

The QS rankings list the top 200 universities in the world. While US universities dominate the overall rankings, only three Indian universities have made it to the top 200.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) leads the global rankings this year.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, have been placed in the top 200 universities.

The IIT-Delhi, at 172nd position, leads the rankings in India. The IIT-Bombay is placed at 179 and IISc Bangalore features at 190.

For the rankings 29,000 universities were considered, of which 959 were shortlisted.
