The 2015 Suzuki Swish 125 is here!

Nothing new, all cosmetic, is what Naveen Soni finds in the updated Suzuki Swish 125.

Japanese auto maker Suzuki has launched the updated model of its 125cc scooter Swish costing Rs 56,482 (on-road, Delhi). It has some new features along with major cosmetic updates to attract young customers in India. Let's check out the 2015 Suzuki Swish 125.

The new Swish gets a fresh skin with sporty decals and four new single and dual tone colour options namely Pearl Mirage White, Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Sonic Silver with Glass Sparkle Black and Candy Dark Cherry Red with Glass Sparkle Black.

The bike has also received a newly designed headlamp with blue tinted positioning lamps and a revised bikini fairing. However, the rest of the body work remains unchanged.

It also has a new analog-digital instrument cluster, which features digital fuel gauge, dual trip meter, oil change indicator and a clock along with an easy to read analog speedometer.

In addition to these cool new features, the bike retains all other characteristics and equipment of its predecessor.

Propelling the new Swish is the same 124cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder, OHC engine, mated to a CVT transmission. Using a carburetor type fuel system, it makes 8.58bhp of maximum power at 7,000rpm and a peak torque of 9.8Nm at 5,000rpm. The scooter weighs just 110kg and has a seat height of 780mm including a ground clearance of 160mm.

Overall dimensions (length x width x height) are 1,780mm x 650mm x 1,140mm and it has a wheelbase of 1,250mm. An ample under-seat storage has been provided with the scooter with 20-litre capacity.

The 2015 Swish 125 runs on 10-inch steel wheels, which come covered with 90/100 tubeless tyres and equipped with 120mm drum brakes. It comes with telescopic forks at the front and unit spring loaded hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. Other features of the scooter includes maintenance free battery, shutter type key lock and steel fenders.

Although, it is an 125cc machine, it competes with the likes of Honda Activa and TVS Jupiter as well as the other 125cc scooters like Mahindra Rodeo and Honda Activa 125.
