Harley-Davidson has launched its Sportster 1200 Custom in India at a starting price of Rs 8.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The bike features the agility of the Sportster series along with the attitude of the cruiser. The bike will come as a CKD (completely knocked down) unit and will be assembled at the company's Bawal, facility in Haryana.

Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom is propelled by a rubber-mounted, air-cooled, 1200cc engine having electronic sequential port fuel injection (ESPFI) with oxygen sensors.

It is coupled to a 5-speed transmission and produces peak torque of 96Nm. Aesthetically, the bike shares some of its features with the discontinued SuperLow but the overall design is modern and feels good to look at.

Built around a mild steel tubular frame having 30mm forks at the front and dual coil-over threaded preload adjustment shock absorber at the rear. For braking perspective, the bike comes equipped with a single disc with dual-piston calipers at both the ends while ABS comes as a standard feature.

In addition, Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom is integrated with numerous features including pull back handlebar, two-up custom seat, smart security system with hands-free, proximity based security job and keyless ignition.

The bike is offered with wide customisation options to choose from, which include seat, handlebar, wheels, foot controls, paints and graphics and engine finish. The bike is available in three colours namely, vivid black, charcoal pearl, and superior blue.

The launch of Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom will take the total products under the American manufacturer's fleet to 13, out of which eight are assembled in India.

Recently, the company has revealed the Low Rider S, which we believe will be the next from the Harley-Davidson.
